
Diversity Consulting
Leanne started the consulting side of In-Clude in 2019 as there is a huge ongoing problem in the UK Audio industry surrounding diversity and inclusion. According to Ofcom in 2018, only 6% of the radio and podcasting industry identify as Black, Asian or ethnically diverse and there is a worrying lack of data to demonstrate the lack of representation within the UK Audio industry.
Leanne has a wealth of experience in the diversity space; she has driven Diversity Strategy at some of the biggest organisations in the world: Spotify, Google and Microsoft.
After leaving Spotify Leanne founded In-clued Consulting, where she primarily focuses on improving representation and inclusion within the Audio industry.
She was commissioned to work on the British Podcast Awards in 2019, 2021 and 2022 to improve representation of the judges and award winners. During the first year that Leanne worked on this, George the Poet won five awards and it was the most diverse range of winners in the award show’s history.
She also worked on the London Podcast Festival in 2019; developing an outreach strategy to encourage those from diverse backgrounds to attend the shows across the festival.
She did a similar project for Digital Radio UK's conference in 2019 and has worked with Audio UK developing their diversity strategy in 2019, 2020 and 2021 to improve representation of their judges and outreach to entrants for their annual award show; the Audio Production Awards.
In-Clued is available to develop bespoke diversity strategies and programming to overcome the specific challenges an organisation faces.
